Don’t Go Quietly to that Pencil Case in the Sky
It always starts off innocently enough – signing a register receipt or that late night phone call you wished would never come – but suddenly your life is divided into two parts: before the event and after the event. I pulled the Post-It Flag Pen (Classic) out of my purse to sign the slip and it wouldn’t write. I swirly swirly’d for a couple of seconds – no dice. I shakey shakey’d and still NOTHING. I wasn’t about to use the nasty, germ ridden pen the clerk attempted to force upon me, with its chewed up cap and unsatisfying aesthetics. Glancing at the long line of folks loaded down with books and magazines – I was in B&N – I dug into my bag for another pen, shaking off the reality of this situation.
It was only after safely locking myself in the car did I let the full weight of my circumstances settle on my shoulders.
Oh, that’s horrible, Snarky! My condolences.

I think an autopsy should be performed… in the name of science. Let this pen not have died in vain!
I have one of these pens. I have had it for ages. It was given to me by one of the drug reps back when they were still allowed to give you pens (I still don’t see how giving us pens is considered a form of bribery… LOL).
I do not understand why they did not make it refillable. I DO use the flags for things, so i really liked the pen. I keep thinking maybe one day I will be able to find a way to take it apart without breaking it so I can get a cut-to-fit refill or something to stick in there. So far, no luck. I hope you found a new one! I haven’t found any other flag pen I like.
@ferretkingdom – yeah, I don’t see how these pens – as glorious as they might be – are gonna make physicians do anything. I wonder if my dad reads film faster because of the magical free pens!
I searched all over for the pens then one night, my partner and I were killing time waiting for Fed Ex to get back to the hub and went over to Staples and found a cache of these damn pens. The kicker: we’d gone to Fed Ex to pick up a package we believed to be a lot of these pens purchased from Amazon!
