Some people wanna fill the world with silly notebooks…
When two loves – writing cheesy parody songs and tiny notebooks – collide it usually results in a blog post. So it is with P-Mac and these silly notebooks. A staple of party supply stores, $1 crapatoriums and dump bins at big box craftailers, silly notebooks are adorable, ridiculous and mercifully modestly priced. Thus making it entirely possibly to “fill the world with” silly notebooks. Or at least a junk drawer or two.
These are actually planners. The cursor hand is a graph notebook. All three are made by Horizon Group USA, though they were purchased at different big box retailers. The 7×5 (17.8 cm x 12.7 cm) planners are exactly the kind of product a person who is often felled by her planner addiction needs. The pages require no commitment to month nor year. Just a willingness to occasionally date (as evident by space for the date only at the top of each page) and very few obligations. These planners are not going to enable you to run a media empire, but would probably make a good food or activity diary…if you’re into that sort of thing. Look, I don’t wanna dictate use of these fine $1 non-committal planners. So as always, your fun to monkeys ratio may vary.
Because of their price point, I assumed the paper would perform no miracles or offer any pushback to the most bleediest of pens. I was right. Juicy gel pens, pooling rollerballs or dense fancy pens are just going to laugh at this paper. Pair these notebooks with workhorse ballpoint ink, preferably from a cheeky novelty pen and you’ll set the right tone. All notebooks purchased from box retailers and will set you back a mere $1.
